This policy explains how Prestige Garage Doors Ltd ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit this website or contact us. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Prestige Garage Doors Ltd, 45 Chilfrome Close, Poole, BH17 9WE, Dorset, United Kingdom. Email: vdoors@yahoo.com. Telephone: +44 7928 037466.
2. What data we collect
- Enquiry details you give us through the contact form, by email, phone, WhatsApp or Facebook — such as your name, phone number, email address, postal address, photos of your garage door and the details of your enquiry.
- Job and billing details if you become a customer, such as the address where work is carried out and invoice records.
- Technical data automatically sent when you load this website, such as your IP address and browser type, received by the services that deliver parts of the page (see section 5).
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website, and we never sell your data.
3. How we use your data and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out work, issue invoices and provide guarantees — performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
- To keep the website working and secure — legitimate interests.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Customer and invoice records are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by HMRC, and records needed for guarantees are kept for the length of the guarantee.
5. Who we share it with
We only share your data with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed:
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — forwards contact form messages to our email inbox.
- Yahoo Mail — our email provider.
- WhatsApp and Facebook (Meta) — if you choose to contact us there.
- Website delivery services — our web host, Google Fonts (fonts), cdnjs/Cloudflare (map software) and OpenStreetMap (map images) receive your IP address when pages load.
- Google Maps — only if you click "Get directions", which opens Google Maps.
- Our accountant, and authorities where we are required to by law.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email vdoors@yahoo.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
7. Security
This website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. We keep your data only on password-protected devices and accounts and limit access to people who need it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
